Thanks everyone for your help resolving previous questions!
Thanks!
EDIT: forgot one
- We are creating a Star Wars Crossovers "fandom" for Star Wars ships whose characters do not appear in the same subfandom/division (for example, Cassian Andor and Han Solo). This is meant to be used in order to avoid tossing relationships into the general Crossover Fandom bucket when the characters technically are in the same continuity even though they never meet. Crossovers between Star Wars and an unrelated fandom should still go under Crossover Fandom.
- Since this is being created, we still do not anticipate approving Star Wars - All Media Types. If you used this fandom to nominate one or more relationships between characters who appear together in Star Wars canon, please move those ships to The Mandalorian, Original Trilogy, Sequel Trilogy, etc. You are always free to request/offer more than one SW subfandom if you'd be interested in eg. Leia and Luke at any point in their life, or to request one and note your openness to other parts of their timeline in your optional details. Please fix this as it will be annoying to sort out manually.
Mass Effect: Gil Brodie and Kallo Jath are nominated under Mass Effect Trilogy, but they seem to be characters from Andromeda. Yes? (This may be due to the Mass Effect (Video Games) nom getting approved as Mass Effect Trilogy due to a separate Andromeda nomination, we just want to confirm before adding it to the right place manually.)- Ace Attorney: Original characters cannot be nominated. F!Phoenix Wright/Original Female Character(s) will be approved as F!Phoenix Wright & None if not corrected; you may prompt for OC shipping in your optional details.
- Once Upon a Time: We are not super familiar with the fandom and it's slightly unclear whether your "M!Fairies" nomination refers to male versions of a bunch of specific female fairy characters that are not enumerated individually, or to flipping the whole fairy species to male. Is your wording something that a person interested in offering or requesting the fandom will find sufficiently clear?
The previous post has an outstanding query about X-Men/Marvel Comics. Also Marvel/MCU - while we've approved Moon Knight separately, we've also received some conflicting indications in the nominations about how to handle Marvel shows that are more closely tied to the films and the characters who star in the films, such as Hawkeye (currently nominated separately), or WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier (these have not been nominated separately but there have been Bucky/Sam, Wanda/Vision, Zeno etc. nominations under MCU). Can people involved in these fandoms offer any guidance?Sherlock Holmes nominator, if you do not edit your nomination to include genderswapped characters then mods will either reject it or decide what to put in the tagset at the end of nominations.
Thanks!
EDIT: forgot one
- Stargate! We absentmindedly approved an All Media Types batch that contained both SG-1 and Atlantis characters. Mods aren't very familiar with Stargate and have the vague impression that they're technically a single continuity but generally separated out because people are interested in different installments. Should these be separated into Atlantis and SG-1, or combined?
Stargate noms
Date: 2022-05-19 07:38 am (UTC)I popped them into the same verse because I had some 'crossover' relationships in my nominations, with characters who appear in both but are primarily from different shows.
This choice was primarily influenced by how I signed up for an exchange recently (lbd) which ended up with the same character nominated in three fandoms (SGA, SG1 and all media), which made sign ups a pain.
People are interested in different sections of the fandom, and they are separate fandoms, but for character based nominations I felt like all media was clearer. If it was a prompt claim etc I would separate them out, personally.
Re: Stargate noms
Date: 2022-05-19 05:28 pm (UTC)They absolutely are in the same continuity, to the extent that many characters appear in episodes of the reciprocal shows (so technically, some of them can correctly appear under any of the separated-out fandoms), and I agree that people do tend to be interested in different sections or want to emphasize one part over another for a given request.
I generally have no preference about separating them out or grouping them, and just go with the flow (unless I'm trying to make quotas or maximize my nomination/request slots). If we ended up with separated out, mine would go under Stargate Atlantis. I don't know if it'd be more useful for me to change that or to list out what mine are for the mods to do it. I'll try to keep an eye on this thread.
