...Also I fell out of keeping up with canon around the earlier parts of Shippuden, so anything cemented in canon beyond like... that very first Gaara fight will lose me. If not, I'd love to see them discover a strong, friendly, mutually respectful regard for each other in a marriage. It would just be nice to see something where they could find what they want more easily than in canon. But I'd also be interested in something where that practicality of Charlotte's leads to a decision Elizabeth vehemently can't respect, similar to F!Charlotte accepting Collins's proposal. How would they work through that if they were already married? Elizabeth might react really badly, thinking of her parents' relationship.

- What does revolution look like with the characters in these different circumstances? Is there some crossdressing; are ALL of them? Do they still get into the armed revolution?
- I tend to see Feuilly/Enjolras as pretty much a mutual appreciation society. Do the sex and gender differences result in slower thawing, or different things for them to admire in each other? How much more difficult would Feuilly find it to educate herself?
- What shreds of hope would Grantaire find in Enjolras, and what form would her party-hard cynicism take? What kind of idealism would inspire the same devotion in F!Grantaire, and would it take a similar huge symbol as in canon for F!Enjolras to take note of Grantaire?
- I could imagine Enjolras being basically exactly the same, up to and including the misogynistic tendencies, since he gets described as being the transcendent revolutionary ideal barely paying attention to everyday life - but I imagine that close female companions would object a whole lot more. But if Enjolras was different, that would also be interesting - seeing this forceful personality up against more personal limits in society.

- Has Valjean even gone to prison, or did helping her sister take care of all those kids take a different form? If the prison backstory is pretty much the same, how would Valjean make a way in the world, since it's generally more difficult as a single woman than as a man?
- Ditto for Marius re: single woman making her way - would she still run from home in her shock at learning about her father or would it be too daunting a prospect? Would her grandfather have treated her as poorly all her life? Bossuet and Courfeyrac probably wouldn't be able to help her the same way, if they even meet. Would they manage a different way? Maybe Marius doesn't even feel like she can love Cosette, but her deeply romantic sensibilities means she can't leave her alone, either. (PS: If you're inclined to another ship option for Marius, Courfeyrac would also work for me, or both Cosette and Courfeyrac.)
- Does Cosette have a lot more hang-ups about her romance, or does her bohemian side let her love F!Marius just the same? How might their life together work?
- Do Marius and Valjean have more compassion for each other, or less, or about the same?
DNW: lingering on deaths. I'd prefer focus on lives or on living on in the aftermath of deaths. Focus on homophobia. Rape.

Granny's conception of witch magic is so gendered that it makes me wonder how she'd think of it if she were turned male, or if she'd been born male. Would Granny be a wizard, a witch, or get interested on hearing about warlocks? Never do magic at all/again?
The books also structure Granny's and witches roles as very gendered things. I'd be interested in seeing what an equivalent position in Lancre society M!Granny would occupy, or what fantasy/fairy tale/play/etc. tropes could be parodied with M!Granny as a major player.
For a more specific idea: I'd love to see M!Granny dealing with the Carpe Jugulum plot.
I'd also be interested in interaction with others - Lily, Esk, Tiffany, Nanny (how many times would she hit on m!Granny?), Ridcully, or the Queen of Fairyland would be great. Or the King, as that seems thematically appropriate. Or, F!Granny.

KHR has big differences in how the story treats the female characters vs. the male characters, and I'd like two ways of exploring that:
- the whole style of the narrative changes to something that leans away from the fighting manga tropes that often lead to this kind of thing, and more towards tropes/a story/genre where the female characters get foregrounded. Magical girls? Romance? Horror? I would like, however, if at least some of KHR's silliness and humour still features.
- Keeping the canon universe and exploring how the characters and their backgrounds would be different, and how it might limit or open up what they get to do within canon. Do they bust through the normal conventions without even noticing or chafe against restrictions?
F!Gokudera Hayato
- How would Gokudera's relationships be different? Feel free to pick one - I'd prefer with Bianchi, her dad, Shamal, Ryohei, Tsuna. Maybe something about how she'd feel about G and what the Primo Storm Guardian could "teach" her? I do like to imagine that Bianchi would have taught a little sister how to cook as a bonding activity, like she does with Haru and Kyoko, leading to F!Gokudera not being poisoned anywhere nearly as much as M!Gokudera.

- I tend to see Feuilly/Enjolras as pretty much a mutual appreciation society. Do the sex and gender differences result in slower thawing, or different things for them to admire in each other? How much more difficult would Feuilly find it to educate herself?
- What shreds of hope would Grantaire find in Enjolras, and what form would her party-hard cynicism take? What kind of idealism would inspire the same devotion in F!Grantaire, and would it take a similar huge symbol as in canon for F!Enjolras to take note of Grantaire?
- I could imagine Enjolras being basically exactly the same, up to and including the misogynistic tendencies, since he gets described as being the transcendent revolutionary ideal barely paying attention to everyday life - but I imagine that close female companions would object a whole lot more. But if Enjolras was different, that would also be interesting - seeing this forceful personality up against more personal limits in society.

- Has Valjean even gone to prison, or did helping her sister take care of all those kids take a different form? If the prison backstory is pretty much the same, how would Valjean make a way in the world, since it's generally more difficult as a single woman than as a man?
- Ditto for Marius re: single woman making her way - would she still run from home in her shock at learning about her father or would it be too daunting a prospect? Would her grandfather have treated her as poorly all her life? Bossuet and Courfeyrac probably wouldn't be able to help her the same way, if they even meet. Would they manage a different way? Maybe Marius doesn't even feel like she can love Cosette, but her deeply romantic sensibilities means she can't leave her alone, either. (PS: If you're inclined to another ship option for Marius, Courfeyrac would also work for me, or both Cosette and Courfeyrac.)
- Does Cosette have a lot more hang-ups about her romance, or does her bohemian side let her love F!Marius just the same? How might their life together work?
- Do Marius and Valjean have more compassion for each other, or less, or about the same?

The books also structure Granny's and witches roles as very gendered things. I'd be interested in seeing what an equivalent position in Lancre society M!Granny would occupy, or what fantasy/fairy tale/play/etc. tropes could be parodied with M!Granny as a major player.

KHR has big differences in how the story treats the female characters vs. the male characters, and I'd like two ways of exploring that:
- the whole style of the narrative changes to something that leans away from the fighting manga tropes that often lead to this kind of thing, and more towards tropes/a story/genre where the female characters get foregrounded. Magical girls? Romance? Horror? I would like, however, if at least some of KHR's silliness and humour still features.
- Keeping the canon universe and exploring how the characters and their backgrounds would be different, and how it might limit or open up what they get to do within canon. Do they bust through the normal conventions without even noticing or chafe against restrictions?
F!Gokudera Hayato
- How would Gokudera's relationships be different? Feel free to pick one - I'd prefer with Bianchi, her dad, Shamal, Ryohei, Tsuna. Maybe something about how she'd feel about G and what the Primo Storm Guardian could "teach" her? I do like to imagine that Bianchi would have taught a little sister how to cook as a bonding activity, like she does with Haru and Kyoko, leading to F!Gokudera not being poisoned anywhere nearly as much as M!Gokudera.

- Getting considered as a guardian, but then declining the offer because that's just not his kind of thing. (I like Kyoko as Sun or Mist. Or Desert, which presumably could be mistaken for Mist.) Maybe he's too chill, or non-violent, or doubts he can be strong enough.
- What would it change if M!Kyoko knew about the mafia from the beginning?

F!Clint Barton/Natasha Romanov: What Natasha thinks of their very different ways of being assassin-spies. Or how F!Clint brought Natasha in to SHIELD. Would it make a difference that Natasha might first assume that seduction is off the table when dealing with F!Clint?
F!Peter Quill: how would her upbringing have changed - back on Earth and in space? Perhaps Grandpa would have treated her differently; maybe Yondu would have thought he should hand a little girl over to Aleta instead. I'd love if F!Peter's style reflected her mother somehow.
