Daredevil (TV), The Defenders (TV): These were nominated separately, but appear to be part of a shared continuity with significant character overlap. Is there a preferred umbrella fandom tag?
Final Fantasy VII Remake: We already approved Compilation of Final Fantasy VII as nominated, but are now unclear on what is contained under that heading, as there seem to be differences between the original canon and the remake canon of FFVII but the remake is considered part of the compilation? Nominators of either or both of these fandoms, can you help resolve this?
Scarecrow & Mrs. King: Original characters are not permitted in this exchange. If more specific characters are not selected, mod will approve the nominated OC ships as "F!Lee Stetson & None."

Tolkien bookverse nominations (Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, Hobbit) are approved under Tolkien J.R.R. - Works. If any nominations come in for (on the one hand) movieverse or (on the other) non-Arda Tolkien works, they will be approved separately.

So it's complicated and not entirely clear how connected/separate Final Fantasy VII Remake and Compilation of Final Fantasy VII are. The creators have at different times said that they are connected and aren't connected. The in game evidence is inclusive.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a very much expanded retelling of the Midgar portion of the original Final Fantasy VII. However, there are significant changes and additions made to it. Some characters appear sooner than before. Characters that were in other parts of the Compilation but not the base game were added to Midgar. People live longer than they did in the original. Some characters are alive that were dead at this point. Two of the characters seem to have knowledge of what happened in the original game and know stuff that they shouldn't this early in the story, but it's not conclusive.

They also have added these ghost like creatures that when the characters try to divert from the events of the game too far force the characters to take the game route. The climax of Final Fantasy VII Remake is defeating these beings to free the characters from the previous fates.

What I meant is, I understand that FFVII original game and FFVII remake might be different enough that people who are only familiar with one might not want to match to someone requesting/offering the other, and I have no problem accepting them as "different fandoms" in this sense - but I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around whether FFVII, FFVIIR, or both are encompassed by the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" tag and if that might create problems. Sorry, does that make sense?

Compilation of Final Fantasy VII definitely includes Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, the original game, along with several books and animated specials. Final Fantasy VII Remake has had contradictory word of god statements on whether or not it is part of the Compilation and the in game evidence is inclusive at this point. So in terms of what goes in Compilation of Final Fantasy VII the original game is a "yes" and Final Fantasy VII Remake is "no one is knows for sure yet".

Thank you! As long as there's a shared fandom understanding (at least at this time) that the Compilation tag includes the original game but not the remake, I can approve the remake as a separate fandom while leaving the Compilation fandom as-is.
